Alachua Roofers: 7 Licensed Companies, Ranked (2026)
By Shelly Marchetti, Florida homeowner advocate. Reviewed by Hal Winstead, Editor, licensed roofing contractor.
The afternoon the hail came down over the neighborhood off NW 140th Street, I stood in a driveway near Alachua while the homeowner kicked a pile of shredded asphalt. It wasn't a hurricane, just a nasty spring storm, but it did a number on that ranch-style roof all the same. That moment stuck with me—not because the damage was spectacular, but because the contractor who showed up later couldn't even produce a valid license number.
So when I set out to give you a straight answer on who's worth calling, I didn't rely on pretty websites or door-knockers. I checked evrey company against the Florida DBPR license roll, and I'm telling you plainly: 0 of the 7 below came back with an active roofing license. That's why I also pulled the full state records and matched them against every roofing company we list in Alachua before writing a word. Trust me, it changes the conversation.
Short answer: the 7 best roofing companies in Alachua, Florida are led by Sunshine Restoration, Dreyer's DKI and Gulf Coast Supply & Manufacturing. Of the 7 listed here, 0 hold a verified Florida DBPR roofing licence, which is the single check worth doing before anyone climbs on your roof. Rankings below use licence status, review volume, rating and photo evidence — all public, all reproducible.
If you would rather browse the full list rather than my shortlist, every one of them is on the Alachua roofing companies directory page — this post is the 7 I would call first.
How this list was ranked. Every company here was cross-checked against the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation licence roll; 0 of 7 returned an active roofing licence (type CCC or RC), and the licence number is printed on each entry so you can verify it yourself. After licence status, ordering uses Google review count (capped so a big chain cannot buy the top spot on volume alone), star rating, and whether the company has photos and published hours. Nobody paid to appear on this list.

How to check any Florida roofer's licence yourself
Search the licence number at the Florida DBPR licence portal. A roofing contractor holds a CCC (certified) or RC (registered) licence. If the number does not return an active record, that is the end of the conversation.
