How listings are compiled

Every listing starts as public data: the Florida DBPR licence roll, and public business information including name, address, phone, website and hours.

We then try to match the two. That match is imperfect and we say so on the page rather than hiding it. Every listing falls into one of three honest states:

Licence verified. We matched the business to an active Florida roofing licence (type CCC — certified, valid statewide; or RC — registered, valid in the jurisdiction that issued it). The number is printed on the listing so you can check it yourself.

Licensed but not found online. An active licence with no matching business listing we could find. Around 7,000 Florida roofers are in this position. Their pages are sparse because the public data is sparse, not because the contractor is lesser.

Not matched to a licence. The business exists publicly but we could not match it to an active Florida roofing licence. Ask them for the number before you hire — and if you own the business, send it to us and we will verify and display it, free.

What we never do

We do not rank by who pays. City and category pages order by licence status, then review volume and rating. Paid placement is labelled wherever it appears, it does not change the facts of any listing, and it never removes a competitor from the results.

Keeping it current

Licence status changes. Businesses close. If something here is wrong, email hal@floridaroofingdirectory.com with the listing URL and we will fix it.
