16 Licensed Roofing Contractors Serving Ft Lauderdale, FL (2026)
By Shelly Marchetti, Florida homeowner advocate. Reviewed by Hal Winstead, Editor, licensed roofing contractor.
The morning after Hurricane Irma, I stood on the cracked driveway of a 1950s concrete-block house on SE 8th Street in Rio Vista and helped a retired teacher sort throught her insurance claim. Her roofer's paperwork said the roof was fine. Rain was still dripping onto her bedspread. That storm barely made local news. I've never forgotten that gap betwen paper and proof.
I put this list together the plain way: take the names that keep getting shared by Fort Lauderdale homeowners, then run each one against the Florida DBPR licence roll. Result: 0 of the 16 below came back with an active roofing licence. Not one. That's the truth behind the endorsements you see everywhere, and it's why I point everyone toward every roofing company we list in Ft Lauderdale before they sign a single estimate.
Short answer: the 16 best roofing companies in Ft Lauderdale, Florida are led by LATITE ROOFING AND SHEET METAL COMPANY, PRO TEK GENERAL CONTRACTING INC and FICHTS INC. If you would rather browse the full list rather than my shortlist, every one of them is on the Ft Lauderdale roofing companies directory page — this post is the 16 I would call first.
How this list was ranked. Every company here was cross-checked against the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation licence roll; 0 of 16 returned an active roofing licence (type CCC or RC), and the licence number is printed on each entry so you can verify it yourself. After licence status, ordering uses Google review count (capped so a big chain cannot buy the top spot on volume alone), star rating, and whether the company has photos and published hours. Nobody paid to appear on this list.

How to check any Florida roofer's licence yourself
Search the licence number at the Florida DBPR licence portal. A roofing contractor holds a CCC (certified) or RC (registered) licence. If the number does not return an active record, that is the end of the conversation.
