Dover Roofing Contractors: 16 Compared (2026)

By Shelly Marchetti, Florida homeowner advocate. Reviewed by Hal Winstead, Editor, licensed roofing contractor.

One sticky July morning I was down on a clay lane off McIntosh Road, standing in the carport of a 1960s block home while a fast-moving storm peeled shingles off the back slope. The owner kept saying the roofer who’d quoted her was “close to done elsewhere.” I counted three nails in a neighbor’s rain gutters. That moment has stayed with me throught every roof I’ve been asked to help with near Dover.

To put together this guide, I didn’t rely on who had the best truck wrap. I checked every company against the Florida DBPR licence roll, and 3 of the 16 below came back with an active roofing licence. That’s the same standard I used for every roofing company we list in Dover: a current, clear state licence and nothing hidden in the contractor’s history. A storm will allways find a weak roof; this list is about finding a roofer who won’t be the next weak link.

Short answer: the 16 best roofing companies in Dover, Florida are led by Buddy's Roofing & Repairs, Matera Roofing and Southeastern Roofing & Construction. Of the 16 listed here, 3 hold a verified Florida DBPR roofing licence, which is the single check worth doing before anyone climbs on your roof. Rankings below use licence status, review volume, rating and photo evidence — all public, all reproducible.

If you would rather browse the full list rather than my shortlist, every one of them is on the Dover roofing companies directory page — this post is the 16 I would call first.

How this list was ranked. Every company here was cross-checked against the Florida Department of Business and Professional Regulation licence roll; 3 of 16 returned an active roofing licence (type CCC or RC), and the licence number is printed on each entry so you can verify it yourself. After licence status, ordering uses Google review count (capped so a big chain cannot buy the top spot on volume alone), star rating, and whether the company has photos and published hours. Nobody paid to appear on this list.
